Meetings

The SFVRS meets on the second Saturday of the month at the Robert M. Wilkinson MPC, 10 am to noon. The Wilkinson Multipurpose Center is at 8956 Vanalden Ave., Northridge, CA 91324. [Map]

OUR MEETINGS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC,  ALL ARE WELCOME.  MEMBERSHIP IN OUR SOCIETY HELPS US TO SUPPORT AND PROMOTE “THE LOVE OF THE ROSE.”

January, 2019
–   Saturday, January 19, pruning at the Chatsworth Historical Society, at Chatsworth Park. This pruning will begin at 9 am and end at 12: pm . The address is: 10385 Shadow Oak Drive, Chatsworth, CA 91311
 – NEW DATE: Saturday, January 26, 10 am -12 pm, Pruning at a member’s home. Call for details.
February 9,  2019 – Our guest speaker is Steve Gerischer with Larkspur Garden Design. An excellent speaker, Steve will discuss Landscape and Garden Design.
March 9,  2019 – Our guest speaker is Lynne Godin educating us about Monarch Butterflies, ‘This is a Monarchy’ is the title of Lynne’s presentation.
April 13, 2019 – The SFVRS will have a tour of The Huntington Library Rose Garden with curator Tom Carruth. This is a members and guests only event.
May 11, 2019 – Our guest speaker is Yvonne Savio with the L.A. Arboretum. Yvonne will speak about Organic Gardening in LA.
June  8, 2019  -Scott Klittich, owner of Otto & Sons Nursery, in Filmore.  Scott will speak “All About Roses’.

July and August – no meetings.

September 14, 2019 – Suzanne Horn will talk about and share pictures of David Austin Roses. Suzanne grows a large number of David Austin Roses, and all in containers!
October 13, 2019 – San Fernando Valley Rose Society Annual Rose Auction and Potluck, plant sale and Silent Auction.
November 9, 2019 –  Carol Randall from Armstrong Garden Center in Sherman Oaks, is returning to speak about Succulents and Plumeria.

December 14, 2019 – SFVRS Holiday Party, Gift Exchange, and Installation of Board Officers, this is a potluck.


Additional Activities
