Meetings

The SFVRS meets on the second Saturday of the month at the Robert M. Wilkinson MPC, 10 am to noon. The Wilkinson Multipurpose Center is at 8956 Vanalden Ave., Northridge, CA 91324. [Map]  

OUR MEETINGS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC,  ALL ARE WELCOME.  MEMBERSHIP IN OUR SOCIETY HELPS US TO SUPPORT AND PROMOTE “THE LOVE OF THE ROSE.”

February 11th    – Our returning president, David Bassani, will be speaking about rose care and pruning

March 11th – Our guest speaker is Jack Enberg with Gro Power. Gro Power is mainly a fertilizer company with superior products, and Jack has graciously agreed to enlighten us about the new and various products that Gro Power has to offer.

April 8th – April is the month of the San Fernando Valley Rose Society’s Annual Rose and plant auction.  We purchase roses from  nurseries, and members donate roses that are bought and from their own gardens.  There is a great possibility of a “Silent Auction” this year. 

May 13th – We are delighted to announce that our speaker for May is Gisele Schoniger with Kellogg Garden Organics.  Gisele has been working and presenting for Kellogg for many years and knows her products well.  Join us and “get the dirt’ on what’s new with Kellogg.

June 10th -Our speaker for June is Scott Klittich, owner of Otto & Sons Nursey in Fillmore, CA.  Otto & Sons is one of the largest grower of roses and plants in the southern region.  Scott will update us as to what is new in the rose market.
**There is a chance that we maybe able to rent a free city bus and hold our program at Otto & Sons Nursery..stay tuned**

**As a reminder, our meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month excluding July and August, between the hours of 10:00 am until 12:00 noon.  There may be date and time changes for special events and parties.

We follow the City of Los Angeles requirements for COVID19.  
***The City of Los Angeles no longer requires proof of covid vaccination or masking at our meeting place, The Robert M. Wilkinson Senior Center***

Additional Activities

The Chatsworth Historical Society has asked for our help in pruning at the park. This event/pruning will take place on Saturday, January 28th from 9:00 am until noon.

***On January 29th our President David Bassani will be hosting a Consulting Rosarian Table at the Green Thumb Nursery in Canoga Park, on Sherman Way.  The time is from 10:00 am on.***
